The current app lacks motivation. Users want to be able to find what they are looking for quickly and when working out they don’t want to constantly stop to play the next video. One thing that many users did not know when using Freeletics is that they have control over how long a workout can last, this was not clear within the app.
The solution for the redesign is to improve the UI and make every step clear for the user and add some features like autoplay for videos to create a better experience for the user.
Individual School Project
I began by looking at the existing app and going through it. What I found was that the navigation is not clearly labeled so you have to explore the app to get familiar with the navigation. The app is efficient, and tasks are easy to complete but the overall design seems boring and simple, the design affects the overall experience of being motivated to workout. One big issue that I found in the design was before you start a workout you can edit the wights in the app to fit the ones you are using in the workout, in the design it is not made clear that you have that option.
Users were asked to complete 3 tasks. The first task is to create an account and customize their preferences. Task number two is to go through the app and complete a workout, and the last task was for them to run through the app and learn a new workout.
